Tami, Hospital Manager

tami smTami has been the hospital manager since 2003. She works closely with Dr. Fox to maintain the high quality everyone has grown to respect and appreciate at Westside. Although Tami often works behind-the-scenes, you will regularly see her lending a hand at the front desk; she loves interaction with clients and their pets.

Tami grew up on a farm in Wolf Lake, Indiana. She says she spent more time in the barn with her horse than she did in the house! She went to college at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana. Tami has two dogs (Sambora and Jersey), and two cats (Mama and Mr.). In her spare time she enjoys concerts, gardening, swimming, and spending time with her three grandchildren.

 

Emily, Registered Veterinary Technician

emily smEmily is a graduate of Purdue’s Veterinary Technology program and has worked at Westside since 2009. Emily enjoys caring for surgical and dental patients, ensuring they have a safe and positive experience while at the hospital.

Emily grew up in Fort Wayne and now lives with her husband, dog, two cats, and rabbit. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and spending time outdoors.

Kristy, Registered Veterinary Technician

kristy smKristy graduated from the Vet Tech Institute at Fort Wayne International Business College in 2008. Her favorite part about working at Westside is taking care of the patients during surgery, assisting with diagnostics/treatments, and trimming nails. She has two kids that keep her very busy. She loves to visit the zoo, play at local parks, and ride bicycles with her family. Her hobbies include exercising and playing co-ed beach volleyball. Kristy has two cats, a turtle and lots of fish!

We appreciate the kind, thorough care that Kristy provides to the patients at Westside.

 

Dawn, Registered Veterinary Technician

dawn smDawn graduated from the Vet Tech Institute at Fort Wayne International Business College in 2013 and passed state licensing in 2014 to become a registered veterinary technician. Dawn started at Westside in 2015. She has a daughter, Anna, and three cats — Stash, Dinah, and Hiccup. In her spare time, she likes to spend time with family and friends, read, and watch Netflix. Dawn has experience working at a local animal shelter assessing and preparing animals and people for a successful adoption. Because of this experience she is committed to educating owners on all aspects of their fur babies to make the happiest and healthiest homes possible.

Kelsi, Registered Veterinary Technician

kelsi smKelsi graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology in Denver, CO in 2005. She has worked in both primary and emergency medicine and has been at Westside Animal Hospital since 2009.

Kelsi enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids. When they aren't taking care of the many pets (dogs, cats, llamas, chickens, koi, etc.), the family really enjoys playing video games together.

 

Rachel, Receptionist / Technical Assistant

rachel smRachel grew up locally in Ossian and has lived in Fort Wayne since 2000. She started working in the veterinary field in 2005 and joined the Westside team in 2008. Rachel has two dogs, a rose-hair tarantula, three step children and a daughter of her own. Outside of work, Rachel stays busy running her household and working on small art projects for herself or friends.

In addition to her duties as a receptionist, Rachel often assists the doctors with surgeries, radiographs and treatments alongside the technicians. Rachel is heavily involved with inventory management at Westside – not a small task in such a large, busy animal hospital! Rachel helps ensure that everything you may need for your pet is readily available or accessible.

 

Jena, Receptionist

jena smJena started working at Westside in 2006. She has always had a special place in her heart for animals and is grateful she gets to work with them everyday. Jena has two daughters, Nevaeh and Haven, and a son, Roman, and two crazy fur babies Diezal and Duke. In her free time she enjoys taking her children to fun activities, the outdoors, watching movies, and TV series. She also enjoys adopting/re-homing animals when they need a home. She enjoys getting to know all the Westside clients and their pets. She likes helping to contribute to the quality patient care. Jena says, “If I am having a bad day, all it takes is a puppy to come in and lift my spirits!”

You won’t find a friendlier person or a more smiling face than with Jena. Clients love the vitality she brings to the front office and lobby.

 

Kellie, Receptionist

kellieKellie started her journey at Westside as a kennel assistant and currently works as a receptionist, and she feels fortunate to work with a great team of people at Westside. She also enjoys interacting with clients and their adorable pets while doing what she can to make sure their needs are met. Outside of work Kellie enjoys spending time with her husband, their two children and a houseful of rescued pets. She is in the process of completing her bachelor’s degree, but in her free time she loves to settle in with a good book and hot cup of coffee.

Kellie will help you and your pet to feel right at home!

 

Danyle, Receptionist

Danyle joined Westside in January of 2017. Ever since she was a little girl she has loved animals and has spent a lot of time outdoors searching for wildlife with her siblings. Danyle is currently enrolled in Purdue’s VTDL program to become a veterinary technican. She loves both of her dogs, a Cockapoo named Ginger and Yorkie-poo named Romeo. She also has a yearling quarter horse named Zeke that she spends time training. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, fishing, being outdoors, riding horses, and spending time with her family and friends.

Brianna, Receptionist

briannaBrianna graduated form the VetTech Institute at International Business College in Fort Wayne in 2014 and started at Westside in 2016. Brianna has always been interested in veterinary medicine and had a wide variety of pets growing up. She currently has 4 cats; Princess, Pinkie, Osi, and Cruz. When not at work Brianna enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, playing cards, and anything sports related.

 

Megan, Receptionist

megan smMegan started working at Westside in 2014 as a kennel assistant. She was then crossed trained in 2017 to become a receptionist. She’s enjoyed being able to finally meet the pet’s parents , especially the ones she has cared for while boarding with us. She has always loved animals and has four cats of her own. In her spare time she likes to hanging out with friends and family, read, and binge watch shows on Netflix.

 

Jenna Marie, Receptionist

jennaJenna graduated from Homestead High School in Fort Wayne and is a licensed cosmetologist. Although this is Jenna's first job in the veterinary field, she has had animals of many kinds throughout her life. She has a daughter named Kyah.

Ashley, Kennel Supervisor

ashley smAshley has worked at Westside since 2010 and loves spoiling and taking care of the boarding pets during their stay. She graduated from IPFW with a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Supervision, as well as minors in Psychology and Sociology. She also has an interest in learning more about therapy and service pets. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, concerts, and spending time with friends, family and her pets.

 

Rosemarie, Groomer

rosemarieRosemarie has been our groomer at Westside for over 30 years. She has loved animals her entire life, and started grooming and showing dogs as a child.

Rosemarie has always said there is nothing else she'd rather do in life. She loves making pets look as good as they can be!
