Help keep your pet looking its best!
We have a full-time groomer at Westside Animal Hospital. Our groomer, Rosemarie, has worked at Westside for over 30 years and is familiar with all pet grooming styles. Be sure to call early for your grooming appointment, especially during the summer and near holidays. We offer the following:
- Trimming and shearing
- Nail trimming
Rosemarie will pluck hair from your pet's ears if necessary, although ear cleaning/flushing is not included with grooming. If your pet's ears or skin require additional care, we will call you to see if you would like to have the doctor examine your pet.
Pick-up and drop-off are during our normal business hours; Rosemarie grooms Monday - Friday.
Important Grooming Information:
Dogs and cats must be current on vaccinations (including Kennel Cough for dogs). If we are not your pet's regular provider of medical care, please bring documentation of vaccination with you.
Grooming should be done on a regular basis — even during the winter. Most long-haired dogs should be groomed every 6-8 weeks; this will help prevent matting. Older pets often mat more easily since they tend not to groom themselves well. It is a good idea to comb or brush your pet regularly (at least several times per week) at home in between groomings.
Long-haired puppies can be groomed as soon as their puppy vaccination series is complete — even if their hair is not very long yet. Starting early helps promote acceptance of grooming procedures and aids with socialization.
Regular grooming helps prevent the development of skin and ear problems. Matted, overgrown hair may also conceal skin problems and tumors.
Rosemarie provides a complementary first grooming to puppies and kittens. Ask our staff for more details!
